Dr. Peter MacLean founded Coaldale Dental Centre as a first location. Then three years later, our second office opened in Bow Island. Dr. Jackie Pitstra has now been serving as our general dentist providing Southern Alberta communities with professional dental care.

Meet The Team
Dr. Jackie Pitstra
Dentist
Dr. Jackie Pitstra joined Bow Island Dental Centre in 2001. Born and raised in Calgary, she attended the University of Calgary receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree. Then in 1994, she completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree at the University of Alberta. For 6 years, Dr. Pitstra went on to practice dentistry in Saskatoon before moving to the Bow Island area. She holds a membership in the Canadian Dental Association, the Alberta Dental Association, and the Calgary & District Dental Society.
Dr. Pitstra is married and has two sons. She enjoys volunteering at her church and the Coaldale District Chamber of Commerce. An enthusiastic cyclist, you can find Dr. Pitstra cycling in the summer months on the highway between Coaldale and Bow Island.
Cori
Practice Manager
Armed with 20 plus years of office experience, Cori keeps our Coaldale & Bow Island branches running at peak efficiency. Her adaptability, coupled with her natural listening abilities, help her maintain relationships within the office.
Caroline
Receptionist
Hailing from Denmark and raised in Alberta, Caroline is a U of L B.Sc. graduate with a passion for outdoor adventures. She enjoys hunting, hiking, and gardening. Caroline's love for animals shines through her care for her dogs, Wren and Murph, and a rescued leopard gecko, Rango Spike.
Robin
Receptionist
With a solid foundation in Medical and Dental Administration from Training Inc., Robin has been an invaluable member of our Bow Island Dental team since June 2022. When not at the office, Robin enjoys hiking and cherishing quality time spent with family.
Morgan
Receptionist
A dedicated Canucks fan, Morgan hails from Ontario and has been in Alberta for over three years. With experience in dental and denture offices, she brings valuable expertise to our team. Morgan loves to travel and enjoys golfing in her free time, making her a warm and personable addition to our practice.
Tiana
Dental Hygienist
A University of Alberta graduate, Tiana earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene in April 2022. Born and raised in Coaldale, Tiana loves seeing so many familiar faces and being able to connect with patients.
Darcie
Dental Assistant
Darcie is a diligent worker who's always very excited to meet each patient in our Coaldale and Bow Island offices. She's a graduate from the College of the Rockies Registered Dental Assistant program.
Tamarin
Dental Assistant
A SAIT graduate from 2020, Tamarin has been a vital part of the Bow Island Dental team since April 2021. She boasts a unique talent for ripping apples in half and shares her name with a species of monkey.
Shekinah
Dental Assistant
Having just completed her training at KDM Calgary, Shekinah joined our Bow Island Dental team in October 2022 after a successful practicum. A proud dog owner, she loves spending time with her 6-year-old pup, Winter. Shekinah's adventurous spirit led her to go skydiving in Vancouver a few years ago.
Miranda
Dental Assistant
Miranda joined Bow Island Dental in June 2022, after completing her Kinesiology degree at the University of Lethbridge and dental assistant training at the College of the Rockies. A candle-making enthusiast, Miranda also spent some time teaching kindergarten in China.
